Isabel Ryznar is a violinist from Vancouver, BC.

She has a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Toronto, where she studied with Marie Bérard. Her previous teachers include Jonathan Der and Erno Kabok.

Isabel has performed numerous solo recitals in both Vancouver and Toronto, and has performed as an orchestral violinist on stages across Canada, including Koerner Hall in Toronto and the Chan Centre at UBC.

During her undergrad, Isabel enjoyed performing in masterclasses for esteemed violinists including Erika Raum, Jonathan Crow, and Mark Fewer; performing great orchestral works with the UofT Symphony Orchestra directed by Uri Mayer; and performing string quartets with her friends. She has toured the East coast with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada directed by Sascha Goetzel, and has also participated in the Vancouver Symphony Orchestral Institute directed by Otto Tausk.

Isabel is also passionate about research, particularly the intersection of music and monasticism, and has presented her research on Hildegard of Bingen at UofT.

When she is not playing violin, Isabel can be found spending time knitting, reading, or enjoying time with her family.
