At the age of six, Ken Bai began his musical journey with the introduction of recreational piano lessons in Vancouver. By the age of 14, Ken had fully realized his passion for the classical piano and began lessons with Edward Jiang, pianist, composer, founder and current chair of the PRM. After receiving several distinguished awards in competitions in the Vancouver area as a student, Ken began pursuing an academic career in music. Beginning in 2018, he studied at the University of British Columbia under the former chair of the keyboard division Dr. Terence Dawson, completing and attaining the degree of Bachelor of Music with a specialization in Piano in 2022. At the University of British Columbia, he has also gained access to playing with other professional musicians in the chamber and large ensemble settings. Ken’s continued education with Mr. Jiang and Dr. Dawson has pushed him to discover all genres of music, and to pursue his continued passion for performance.
Currently, Ken is an active teacher and performer in solo and chamber music.
