Alexander Comninos is a professional classical guitarist and educator from Cape Town, South Africa. He holds a Master’s Degree in music performance from the University of Cape Town and has an extensive background as a soloist and chamber musician, having performed at prestigious venues across South Africa, including the Baxter Theatre, Casa Labia Cultural Centre, Oude Libertas Amphitheatre, Brooklyn Theatre, and the Music Revival Festival held in Franschhoek.
In addition to his formal studies, Alexander has honed his craft through masterclasses with internationally acclaimed guitarists Morgan Szymanski, Goran Krivokapic, and Jonathan Crossley.
Alexander has been teaching guitar to students of various ages and levels, ranging from elementary to secondary education since 2017. As part of his academic research, Alexander has focused on innovative approaches to make guitar learning more accessible and relevant, particularly for young people. His teaching philosophy emphasizes a learner-centered approach grounded in constructivist teaching methods.
