SASMA at World of Music & Arts offers local and international students and young performers an opportunity to participate in master classes and workshops with world’s leading artists and renowned professors. Vibrant and stimulating atmosphere encourages an exchange of musical ideas and creation of new contacts and friendships. Festival will include: Our intensive 12 days schedule focuses on close student-faculty collaboration through individual instrumental study and student/faculty recitals as follows: 4 private lessons, public master classes, performances by students, concerts featuring faculty and guest artists, and WMA Competition, sightseeing tours of Vancouver.

Dr. Vadim Monastyrski (Israel)
“Vadim Monastyrski is one of those rarely encountered pianists who, though gifted with truly outstanding virtuosity, uses his technical brilliance entirely in the service of the work he performs.” Cape Town Herald, Cape town, South Africa
He received his musical education from the Moscow Gnesin Institute under the guidance of Theodor Gutman ( pupil of the legendary Henrich Neihaus).He is a Bronze medallist of Liszt – Bartok International Piano Competition in Budapest, Hungary in 1976, and a winner of a Gold medal at the Haendel International Festival in Halle, Germany in 1979. The extraordinary acclaim for Vadim Monastyrski’s recording of Liszt’s transcriptions won him the “Grand Prix du Disque” in 1980 at the International Competition of Recordings in Hungary.
A former professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory ( Russia), Vadim Monastyrski is an Honoured Artist of Russian Federation. He served as a member of many juries of national and international competitions.
Since 1991, Vadim Monastyrski has been a professor at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in Israel, and his students are consistently winners of many international competitions.
Dr. Eugene Skovorodnikov (Canada)
Audiences throughout Europe, Canada, U.S., Latin America, Asia and former Soviet Union recognize Eugene Skovorodnikov for his stylistic interpretation and his technical brilliance.Born in Ukraine, he is a prize winner of “N.Lisenko” National Piano Competition (Ukraine).
Eugene Skovorodnikov took his post-graduate course at the St. Petersburg conservatory(Russia) where he remained teaching until 1990 when he left the country.In 2006 he was awarded an Honourary Doctorate in Musical Arts by Kharkov State Universityof Arts, Ukraine for his achievements in performance and teaching.

He is frequently invited to perform and give masterclasses at the international festivals such as ” Summit Music Festival ” in New York, International Music Academy in St.Petersburg (Russia), Masters de Pontlevoy (France), “International Chamber Music Festival” in Positano (Italy) and Shanghai (China), “Kharkov’s Assemblies” (Ukraine), “Burgos Music Festival” (Spain) From 1991 to 2011, Eugene Skovorodnikov has been teaching with the piano faculty at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada. Many of his students became winners of national and international competitions. Eugene Skovorodnikov is a Steinway Artist.
Anna Vavilova (Latvia/Canada)

Anna Vavilova – a celebrated pianist, composer, recording artist, teacher, artistic director, writer, radio and TV host, producer, founder and director of World of Music and Arts have strongly influenced the cultural life of Vancouver.
Born in Latvia, Anna Vavilova studied in Latvian Musical College where she won numerous awards for her excellence in piano playing. Since coming to Canada in 1997, Anna graduated from University of British Columbia (prof. Kum Sing Lee, Dr. Sara Davis – Buechner and Dr. Henri-Paul Sicsic).
Ms. Vavilova has taken masterclasses from world renowned musicians:,V. Monastyrski (Israel), Aquiles Delle Vigne (Argentina), Martha Noguera (Argentina) and attended piano summer festivals in US, France and Russia. In 2002 Anna appeared with Vancouver Island Symphony (Marlin Wolfe, conductor). In 2005 Anna Vavilova was a finalist at Pacific Spotlight Competition on CBC Radio Two, and has been awarded Vancouver Foundation Scholarship (2005) and BC Arts Council Scholarship (2006) to continue her Graduate Studies.
Possessing a great skill in working with young and already accomplished performers Anna is also a piano teacher in demand, since her students rank highly in festivals and competitions.
Steinway Artists International Piano Competition
Date: August 24th, 2017
– Youth I, up to 11 years old (10 min. max)
– Youth II, up to 15 years old (15 min. max)
– Youth III, up to 18 years old (20 min. max)
– Open Category (25 min. max)
Competition consists of one round. Performers will prepare a short program with representation of at least two different styles. All performers will receive a Certificate of Participation. Winners will receive “Diplomas” of “WMA Music Competition”, and will perform in Gala Concert of Prize Winners . Jury consists of International Performers and Professors of leading music institutions from North America, Europe, Asia and Russia.

Individual Program for Piano Tuition: $1,100.00 USD
Room & Board Fee: $1,100.00 USD
- Application Fee: $100.00 USD due with completed allpication
- First Tuition Installment: $500.00 USD (non refundable) due 1 week after completing application
- Second Tuition Installment: $500 USD due before July 1st, 2017
- Third Tuition Installment: $1100 USD may be submitted at the arrival
