Private Piano Lessons in Richmond BC

June 3, 2015 By

Piano lessons are in almost every city of every country in the world. The piano is among the most popular instruments in modern history. This is probably why the most beautiful and famous music is written for and recorded on the piano. Piano has the ability to evoke every emotion even in the same composition. This can be observed throughout the history of the piano with countless beautiful pieces including those by artists such as Johannes Brahms, Franz Schubert, Frédéric Chopin and Robert Schumann.

Because of the popularity of the piano, piano lessons are equally popular and this popularity is growing in Canada. The trend has been positive with the number of teachers available growing by double-digit percentages over the past decade. This is great for the arts but it increases the need to know the qualifications of the piano instructor you have chosen for your child.

There is a strong correlation between music and math and piano lessons help students to perform better in school overall. Math scores go higher as well do other performance indicators in academics. People that have had a music background with piano lessons have stronger social skills and find it easier to interact with others. This can lead to stronger social acceptance and stronger prospects for success. Physical skills are also improved as studies show that piano lessons can improve eye and hand coordination and increases ambidexterity. Patience and discipline are sharply improved and increased as well as overall self-esteem. Confidence is such an important quality in life and piano lessons can help to build confidence where it is needed.
