Private Guitar Lessons

When most people think of guitar lessons they do not realize how old the guitar is. The guitar is a very old and ancient instrument and many people are surprised to know that the earliest versions of the guitar date back over 3000 years in Babylon. The modern version of the guitar has been seen in various forms since 1200 on instruments that have six strings and frets. The word “guitar” comes from Spanish guitarra which in turn comes from Arabic qitara which comes from Ancient Greek, kithara.

While the history of the guitar is long and rich, the modern guitar is quite complex in the types and forms that are available. Guitars come in both electric versions and non-electric versions commonly referred to as acoustic guitars. Guitars have have a variety of strings, ranging from three to twelve and many configurations that seem very different from each other. What they all have in common is that they are one of the most, if not THE most, used musical instrument of the modern age. Guitars are used in almost every form of musical composition but most commonly they are found in modern pop, rock, blues and jazz music. It is difficult to find any band or musical ensemble on stage that does not have a guitar included.
