Viola Lessons

Alina Khvatova was born in 1996 in Moscow, Russia, in a family of musicians. She began to study violin at age of five with her grandmother, a violin teacher.

At age of six she started to attend lessons in the Music School of the Moscow State College of Musical Performance named after F.Chopin. Guided by her teacher Sofia Mikhno Alina became a prize winner of several music festivals in Moscow.

Since 2008 Alina lives in Richmond, BC where she continued studying violin with Larisa Lebeda. Now she is a college student at the Vancouver Academy of Music. Her current teacher is Robert Rozek, a head of a Strings Department of the VAM, who passes to her his knowledge about violin art and experience he got from the greatest violin tutors like Ivan Galamian, Yasha Heifetz and Natan Milstein that can not be underestimated.

Regarding Alina's background and support of her teachers Alina is proficient in knowledge of violin technics, bowing, phrasing and style.

Alina performs with orchestras as solo player as well as a member of chamber ensemble. She is a player at the Stradivarius chamber orchestra and the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. She is a finalist of the Kiwanis Festival in 2009. She is welcomed to play at many musical events in Richmond and Vancouver.
