“World of Music and Arts” Steveston location operates Music School, Theatre Program, Pre-school Classes and WMA Chess Club. The day-to-day responsibilities are those of the Principal, Administrative Assistant and a Bookkeeper. Volunteers are also an integral part of the school function. Volunteers host concerts, receptions, the Open House and other special events. They also lend their talents to fund-raising which, together with government and corporate grants, helps keep tuition fees as low as possible. It is the work of the parent volunteers in all these facets that keeps the “World of Music and Arts” such an exciting place.

Volunteer opportunities:

Web Designer:
~to update web-site, familiar with joomla (2 hours per week)

Art Designer: 
~ to design posters, flyers, brochures (2 hours per week)

Delieveries:
~to deliver paper advertisements to given locations in Richmond, must have a valid DL, or a bicycle ( 10 hours per month)

Receptionist:
~to monitor front desk, answer calls, take messages and greet clients ( 5 hours per week)

Events:
~to help during events

Fundraising:
~to raise funds for school

Newsletter Production:
~to design and edit a newsletter

Volunteer Coordinator:
~to oversee the work of volunteers, to hold monthly meetings and strategy workshops
